BJP MP Varun Gandhi files defamation case against BJP leader for remarks made on father

Pilibhit: BJP leader Varun Gandhi on Saturday filed a defamation case in a local court here against a person from Varanasi for allegedly making derogatory remarks against father Sanjay Gandhi on Twitter. The Pilibhit MP along with three advocates reached the court premises at around 3 pm on Saturday. Filed a defamation case before Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (II) Abhinav Tiwari.

The court recorded his statement

The court recorded his statement and fixed April 25 as the next date of hearing. A lawyer told that Varun Gandhi has said in the complaint that his father late Sanjay Gandhi was a well-known politician of the country. He was respected all over the country and still is today. He told the court that on March 29, 2023, Vivek Pandey, a resident of Bhojubir, had made indecent remarks against Sanjay Gandhi through Twitter @vivekkumar IND.

The insulter is a member of BJP and Hindu Mahasabha

Nationalist Hindu Mahasabha President Vivek Pandey is also a member of BJP Mahanagar Varanasi Kisan Morcha. Sanjay Gandhi also said that he was informed about the tweet by the general public during his visit to Bilsanda in Bisalpur area. Gandhi said, “If anyone makes derogatory remarks on my father or any elder, I will definitely take legal action against him, so that people learn a lesson. Whatever decision the court takes, it will be accepted.”
