Ranchi: Piyush Raj, a first year B.Sc Physics student of BIT Mesra, hanged himself in his hostel room on Tuesday evening. The deceased was a resident of Hesla village of Patratu block of Ramgarh district. On receiving the information, Mesra police reached the hostel and sent the body to RIMS for post-mortem. Mesra SHO Sumit Kumar told that according to his friends, Piyush was a brilliant student. These days he remained silent. After the class ended on Tuesday, he went to room number 91 of hostel number 3.
After this, the pot was made a noose and hung from the fan. Some boys of the hostel saw him hanging. He informed the management. Police reached the spot and recovered a suicide note from Piyush’s room. In this, Piyush has written that some unknown power is calling him. There is always some unknown force in his room. The power that resides in his room wants to take him away. The family members have been informed regarding the incident. Earlier, on October 24, 2023, Saurabh Suman, a second year Electronics and Communication student of BIT Mesra, had hanged himself.
