Bird festival will be organized in this district of Bihar, there will be a gathering of bird experts from India and abroad.

A three-day state level bird festival will be organized from 10 to 12 February at Nagi and Nakti Bird Sanctuary in Jamui district of Bihar. It is likely to be formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. In this festival, a crowd of bird lovers as well as bird experts from India and abroad will gather. Apart from this festival, the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department has sent a team of bikers from Patna to Nagi and Nakti to provide information to the common people regarding the conservation of birds and increasing their numbers. Besides, departmental officers at the local level are also giving information about this. The objective of this festival is to conserve all types of birds and increase their numbers and to provide information about the benefits they provide to the common people and nature.

Various types of stalls will be set up in the festival

According to the information, various stalls will be set up in this bird festival organized by the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department. Information about the diet and behavior of birds will be given at every stall. Along with this, other types of events including cycle rally and quiz are also to be organised. There are also plans to involve local bird lovers and conservationists in this.

Bird festival was organized for the first time in 2021

‘Tweet’ Celebrating this state level bird festival named Naam was started on 16 January 2021. When this program was held for the first time in 2016, many big faces including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar participated in it. A cultural program was also organized during this period. Earlier, it was organized on a smaller scale in other places including Bhagalpur.

A large number of indigenous and foreign birds come to Nagi and Nakti.

It is said that the special reason for choosing Nagi and Nakti Bird Sanctuary is that a large number of foreign birds come here every year. Apart from this, different species of native birds can be seen throughout the year. Here the dense forests, moram land and different types of natural structures attract birds. There is also a different type of rock formation at this place which is seen only in Karnataka.

136 species of birds

About 136 species of birds were seen in the 2021 Bird Festival at Nagi and Nakti Bird Sanctuary. In that bird festival, birds from many parts of the country including Eurasia, Central Asia, Arctic Circle, Russia and North China were seen. Headed Goose i.e. swan, big swan or white swan was seen here around 1600 times.

International conference on birds will be held in Patna from 5th to 7th February.

Just before this Bird Festival, there will be a three-day international conference based on birds from February 5 to 7 at Hotel Maurya in the capital Patna. The world’s leading bird and environmental experts are likely to participate in it. The purpose of this conference is to share information about birds becoming extinct around the world.

During this, planning for conservation and development of birds, sharing of information regarding birds migrating from one country to another and other points will be discussed.
