Bihar’s son hoisted the Indian flag in China, won gold in Para Asian Games, CM-PM congratulated

The disabled son of an ordinary family from a small village in Jamui district of Bihar has brought glory to India on Chinese soil. Athlete Shailesh Kumar has won the gold medal on the basis of his sports talent. Shailesh has achieved this high jump in T63 in the Para Asian Games held at Hangzhou Stadium in China. This success of Shailesh has increased the prestige of his district and state as well as the country. There is a wave of happiness in his village and family also. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Nitish Kumar and many others have congratulated Shailesh on his success.

Won gold in men’s high jump

Shailesh Kumar, resident of Islamnagar, Aliganj block of Jamui district, has achieved this feat in the men’s high jump event of the Asian Para Games held at Hangzhou Stadium, China from 22 to 28 October. Earlier, Shailesh had won the silver medal in the Para Athletics World Championship held in Paris in July.

Shailesh has won many medals before also

Before winning medals in China and Paris, he had also won the gold medal in the 21st Para Athletics National Championship held in Pune from 16 to 20 March 2023. Earlier, Shailesh had also won the gold medal in the National Championship held in Bhubaneswar from 28 to 30 March 2022. Shailesh has been receiving training at the training center of Sports Authority of India located in Sai Gandhinagar, Gujarat for the last four years.

All three medals of men’s high jump go to India

Let us tell you that a total of 309 athletes from India have participated in the Asian Para Games 2023, of which 196 are men and 113 are women. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were won by India in the men’s high jump of Asian Para Games. Shailesh Kumar won gold, Mariyappan Thangavelu won silver and Ram Singh Padhiyar won bronze medal.

CM Nitish Kumar congratulated

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has congratulated Lal Shailesh Kumar of Bihar on winning the gold medal for India in the high jump event of Para Asian Games 2023 and wished him a bright future.
