More allocation towards establishment and committed expenditure
Jobs, the focus area of the Grand Alliance government, are being given special attention in this budget. For this, more allocation will be made under the head of establishment and committed expenditure. Considering all this, the budget size of the year 2024-25 is likely to be much larger as compared to the current financial year 2023-24. Education Department: Since more than two lakh people are given jobs, the highest budgetary allocation will be made for this department.
Possibility of 10-15% increase in budget size
The budget size of the next financial year is likely to be 10-15% higher than the current financial year. The budget size for the current financial year is Rs 2.61 lakh crore. Which is 10% more than the year 2022-23. If seen from this perspective, if there is a 10% increase in the budget size, it can increase to around Rs 2.88 lakh crore. If there is an increase of 15% then it is likely to increase to Rs 3.0 lakh crore. Next year also the expenditure on establishment and committed items will be more than the plan expenditure. The expenditure on this item in the year 2023-24 is Rs 1.60 lakh crore, which may increase to Rs 1.80 lakh crore in the year 2024-25.
There will be the biggest increase in the budget of the education department.
In the current financial year 2023-24, the highest budgetary allocation for the Education Department has been made at Rs 40450 crore, which is 15.45% of the total budget. The highest budgetary allocation will be made for the education department in the next financial year 2024-25. This amount can increase to more than Rs 55 thousand crores. Because the government has given jobs to 2.17 lakh teachers. Ten thousand crores have been allocated for this. In the current financial year, an allocation of Rs 18250 crore has been made for establishment and committed items in the Education Department. Which may increase to around thirty thousand crores next year.
