Bihar’s biggest IT park will be built in Rajgir, Minister said – investment of two thousand crores will be made in the next five years

Patna. With cabinet approval of IT policy in Bihar, there will be increase in employment to youth and investment by domestic and foreign companies. In the next five years, two thousand crore investments will be made in Bihar and thousands of youth will get employment. At the same time, Biharis working outside the state will find it easier to get employment near their homes. The minister said that an IT park will be built on three and a half acres in Gardanibagh of Patna and 125 acres in Rajgir.

Take advantage of new opportunities under the new policy

On Tuesday, IT Minister Md Israel Mansouri held a press conference. He said that the state government will encourage IT companies and investors to take advantage of new opportunities in the state under the new policy, so that more and more companies can invest in Bihar.

There are provisions for tax exemption under the new policy

The minister said that under the new policy, 30 percent will be given on capital investment subsidy or interest subsidy, 50 percent on lease rental subsidy, 25 percent on electricity bill subsidy and 100 percent on employment generation subsidy. Besides, provision of tailor made package will also be made to those people who invest more than Rs. 100 crore or generate minimum thousand direct employment.

Policy prepared in collaboration with industry experts and stakeholders

Departmental Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh said that Bihar IT Policy 2024 has been prepared by the Information Technology Department with the cooperation of industry experts and stakeholders. In which it will provide a comprehensive financial package to encourage domestic and international investors to choose Bihar as their first option for investment in IT, ITES and ESDM sectors.

Five percent additional incentive amount to third gender entrepreneurs

The minister said that apart from the core IT sector, the IT policy will especially encourage data centres, animation, IT platform aggregators, big data and analytics, smart technologists, drone manufacturing etc. At the same time, five percent additional incentive amount will be given to entrepreneurs belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, women, disabled, war widow, acid attack and third gender.

Department will soon bring startup policy

He said that to promote the development of other areas, there is a provision of giving 10 percent additional incentive to the units established outside Patna and Danapur Corporation area. At the same time, the department will soon bring a startup policy for the youth in Bihar and a separate cadre of the department will be created. Two rounds of meetings have been held at the departmental level regarding this. The IT park will be constructed in PPP mode. A departmental notification has also been issued regarding this.
