Bihar Weather Report: The cold weather is now getting harsher in Bihar. Information has been given by the Meteorological Department that if the west winds gain strength then the cold may increase during Makar Sankranti. Western disturbance is going to become active in the western Himalayan region in the next 48 hours. Due to this, westerly winds can gain strength in Bihar. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the cold is likely to increase between January 13 and 15.

IMD Patna is currently studying the circumstances of activation of Western Disturbance. Only after this will the forecast of the impact of western disturbance be released. The effect of western disturbance is likely to last till January 16. According to official information, due to the effect of western disturbance, the minimum temperature may drop by two to four degrees Celsius as compared to Wednesday. Meanwhile, IMD has issued a forecast that there are chances of fog at one or two places in North-Western and North-Central Bihar and normal to moderate rain in the rest of Bihar for the next 48 hours.
Cold will increase due to westerly weather
Ashish Kumar, senior meteorologist of IMD Patna, said that due to the western disturbance which is going to become active, the westerly wind may gain strength, due to which there are chances of increase in cold. However, it is too early to predict the intensity of that cold. We will issue the forecast only after assessing the intensity of the western disturbance. However, the possibility of rain during the active Western Disturbance is very less.
Temperature of other districts including Patna
According to the official data released by IMD, on Wednesday the highest temperature in Patna was two degrees above normal and the minimum temperature was four degrees above normal and in Gaya the highest temperature was two degrees above normal and the minimum temperature was three degrees above normal. The situation in Bhagalpur is also more or less the same. Day and night temperatures in Purnia remain around normal.
Weather of Gaya normal but cold wind increased Kanakni
Amidst the ups and downs, the weather remained fine in Gaya on Wednesday. The sun was shining but a shiver was felt due to the cold westerly wind blowing. The minimum temperature was 11.6 degrees and the maximum temperature was 24.0 degrees Celsius. The humidity in the morning was 83 percent and the humidity in the evening was 64 percent. The sun has been shining for three days. But, the cold wind is troubling people. Because of this, cold is being felt more from evening to morning. The sun was shining brightly but the cold wind continued. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of the weather becoming disturbed again in the next two days.
Bhagalpur weather
The effect of cold continued in Bhagalpur district on Wednesday also. The minimum temperature was 8.4 degrees in the early morning. The sky remained covered with fog till nine in the morning. Then people got relief due to light sunshine. The maximum temperature of the day was recorded at 23.5 degrees at 2 pm. The dry and cold westerly wind continued to blow slowly. Dr. Sunil Kumar, Nodal Officer of Rural Agriculture Meteorological Service of BAU, said that there is a possibility of decrease in temperature in Bhagalpur between 11th to 15th January. There will be fog in the morning, there will be light sunshine during the day. There is a possibility of western wind blowing during this period. Due to increase in the amount of dust particles in the air, the maximum air quality index of Bhagalpur city was 423.
Seemanchal region including Purnia will now face severe cold
Purnia and other areas of Seemanchal may now have to face severe cold for the next few days. Meanwhile, not only will the minimum temperature drop but the humidity will also increase due to the westerly wind. Due to drop in temperature, cold wave like conditions may arise. According to weather experts, there is a possibility of cold wave from January 12. By the way, dense fog is expected on Thursday morning. The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning to avoid the wrath of cold. According to weather experts, as soon as the western disturbance becomes active in the next two to three days, the cold in Seemanchal area will increase significantly. Kankani will increase in the morning and evening. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature of Purnia was recorded at 11.0 and the minimum temperature was 22 degrees Celsius.
Weather of districts of North Bihar
The intensity of sunlight has started decreasing during the day in the districts of North Bihar. Even after the sun came out on Wednesday, cold conditions persisted due to strong wind. The cold increased as the evening approached. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature of Muzaffarpur was recorded at 22.1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 10.6 degrees Celsius. Weather conditions have remained normal for the last five days. According to meteorologists, the temperature is likely to remain normal for the next four days.
