According to the official information of IMD, it was a cold day in South-West, South-Central and more than half of North Bihar of the state including Patna. The minimum temperature in all the districts of the state was less than 10 degrees Celsius. In six districts the temperature remained less than five degrees Celsius.

The biggest change in these weather conditions occurring in the sky can be seen from 26-27 January. Because of this, there is a possibility of heavy snowfall in the mountainous areas. According to IMD’s forecast, there will be some decline in the average temperature due to the activity of Western Disturbance which is active with full force. However, the cold period may continue more or less. The average minimum temperature of the state remained between 6-7 degrees Celsius. After Makar Sankranti, it is being estimated to be the lowest in the last decade in January.

Similarly, severe cold day has been recorded in Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Jiradei, Pusa, Buxar, Jamui, Sheikhpura, etc.

Due to this, railway passengers remained sitting waiting for trains throughout the night. Railway officials say that rail traffic is being disrupted due to fog.

  • The highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at Forbesganj at 22.4 degrees Celsius.
