The standard date for withdrawal of monsoon in Bihar is between 8th to 10th October. But this time the monsoon is likely to return around October 15. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of light rain in some parts of Bihar. The Meteorological Department has predicted a slight delay in the arrival of cold. Like last year, this year too the state received less than normal rainfall. Even in October, rainfall is likely to be below normal in most parts. The Meteorological Department says that the seasonal conditions for the departure of monsoon from Bihar have now started forming. In this context, IMD has issued a forecast saying that the departure of monsoon will start in Bihar in the next two to three days. IMD Patna has said in Friday’s forecast that the temperature in most parts of the state may increase by two to three degrees from Saturday. According to IMD, Bihar has received 88 mm of rain so far in October. Monsoon has become very weak on Friday.
Rainfall less than last year
This year too, like last year, the state received less than normal rainfall. According to Meteorological Department data, there was 34 percent less rainfall than normal during the monsoon season in 2022. At the same time, this year also there was 23 percent less rainfall than normal. Whereas in 2021 there was three percent more rainfall than normal, in 2020 there was 25 percent more rainfall than normal.
