Bihar Weather Report: Cold has increased in Bihar. The cold winds on Saturday made people shiver badly in more or less the entire state and they felt melting in the body. The sun was not visible the whole day. According to the forecast issued by IMD, there is a possibility of similar severe cold in the entire state in the next two-three days. On Saturday, there was severe cold day in some areas of south-west Bihar including Patna, Buxar and severe cold in Bhojpur, Rohtas, Bhabua and Aurangabad. Severe cold like situation prevailed in Kishanganj in North Bihar also. The cold wind became stronger in south-central Bihar in the afternoon. The entire Bihar remained immersed in fog.

Cold will increase in North Bihar from tomorrow

According to IMD Patna, the cold may increase further in North Bihar from tomorrow. The westerly wind is blowing at a maximum of 12 to 14 kilometers per hour in South Bihar. There is a possibility of it moving with more strength in North Bihar on Sunday.

Four years record broken in Patna, colder than Srinagar and Dehradun

Cold-day conditions prevailed in Patna for the second consecutive day on Saturday. The maximum temperature of Patna was recorded lower than Srinagar and Dehradun. The highest temperature in Patna was 13.8 degrees, eight degrees below normal, which was the lowest maximum temperature since 2018. In January 2018, the maximum temperature of Patna on January 6 was 12.9 degrees. On Saturday, it was 15 degrees Celsius in Srinagar and 20.30 degrees Celsius in Dehradun. The maximum temperatures of Lucknow and Ranchi were also higher than Patna. The minimum temperature was also recorded at 7.1 degrees Celsius, the lowest of the season. It is known that cold day has been recorded for the third time in the season so far. Whereas, in the year 2022, the lowest temperature of Patna was recorded at 6.6 degrees Celsius on January 20 and in the year 2021, it was recorded at 3 degrees Celsius on January 31.

No relief for next three days

According to the Meteorological Center, at present the flow of Pachhua and North Pachhua is going on in the state. There was no sunlight throughout the day in Patna on Saturday. There was dense fog in the morning. According to further forecast, there is no possibility of any significant difference in the minimum temperature of the city for the next three days. After three days, a gradual increase in temperature will be recorded for the next two days. At present, there is no possibility of any significant change for the next 48 hours. There will be no respite from cold even on the day of Makar Sankranti.

Meteorological Department issued alert

There is a forecast of continuous cold in Bihar for the next two to three days. IMD has once again issued an alert warning not only humans but also animals to take measures to protect themselves from cold. In Bhagalpur, the highest temperature was 15.6, five degrees below normal and the minimum temperature was three degrees below normal. More or less the same situation was seen in Purnia also. The maximum temperature across the state ranged between 13.8 to 20.2 degrees Celsius.

Pollution hits Bihar

As the cold increases, the air of 10 cities of the state is again being recorded in the red zone i.e. very bad category. At the same time, AQI of Gandhi Maidan and Samanpura of the capital was recorded at 424 and 405, which is considered a serious situation in terms of air quality. Apart from this, AQI of Rajvanshinagar was 301 and AQI of Danapur was 362. AQI of Patna City was recorded at 132 and that of Taramandal was 233. Apart from the capital, the air quality of Bhagalpur was recorded in the very poor category among cities across the state. The air quality of Bhagalpur was recorded at 372.
