There are chances of snowfall and rain in the Western Himalayas between January 25 and 27. A forecast has been issued that this weather phenomenon coming in the form of a new Western Disturbance will have a direct impact on the weather of Bihar. Due to its effect, a new phase of bone-chilling cold is likely to begin in the state. According to IMD, there is a possibility of severe cold in the state from 25 to 29 January. An alert has been issued regarding severe cold day. The cold that falls during this period will fall evenly across the state. In view of the forecast of the Meteorological Center and the outbreak of cold wave, the Disaster Management Department has written a letter to all the districts alerting them about the cold wave. The department has instructed all DMs to make complete preparations as per the SOP made for the cold wave. DMs should intensify prevention and publicity for cold wave in their respective districts.
