Bihar Train News: Migrant Biharis reached their homes regarding the festival of Chhath. There was crowd in trains and buses. Most of the trains were already full months before ticket booking started. Many special trains were run by the Railways for the people coming to Bihar. Even after that the trains remained packed. People reached their homes with great struggle. The condition of most of the trains was such that when the trains were arriving on the platform, people were able to reach their seats with great difficulty amid the huge crowd. Trains appeared packed both inside and outside. Now after the completion of Chhath Mahaparva, the process of returning from their homes has started. People will now go back from Bihar in large numbers. A large number of people also live in Patna for livelihood. Meanwhile, keeping in mind the convenience of people returning home during Chhath, an announcement may be made to run some special trains. Apart from long distance, special passenger trains will also be run for short distances.
After the end of Chhath festival, the crowd of people returning to work will increase significantly in Patna, Delhi, Punjab and other states. In such a situation, senior railway officials are continuously visiting Saharsa regarding train operational safety and passenger convenience. Vinay Kumar Srivastava, DRM of Samastipur Division, has conducted a departmental review regarding this along with officials of the concerned departments. He also inspected Saharsa Junction recently. During the inspection, the concerned departments were also informed about their action plan to control the crowd.
During the inspection, DRM said that after the end of Chhath festival, many special trains will be operated from Saharsa Junction. But trains will also run for local connectivity. For this, MEMU special passenger train will be run between Supaul-Saharsa-Patna. In the headquarters meeting, a demand has been made to run MEMU passenger train for 7 days. This proposal has been put forward in the meeting. Hopefully this MEMU train will be available soon. RPF Commandant of Samastipur Division JS Jani was also present to take stock of the security arrangements. During the inspection, DRM of Samastipur division gave several guidelines regarding security.
After Chhath, a large number of people will reach the stations to catch the train. Inter-departmental officers have been prepared at major stations for crowd management. He will give feedback to the emergency control from time to time. Apart from this, all CITs and CTTIs have been instructed to remain deployed at the entry and exit points along the foot overbridges for disciplined movement of passengers and guide the passengers. Apart from this, RPF employees have been instructed to remain alert along with their team at the entry and exit points. RPF has also been instructed to keep the foot overbridge clean. So that smooth movement of passengers can be ensured. Apart from this, DRM also guided the children of Scouts and Guides. Scouts and guides will also be deployed on the platform to control the crowd. For this, a team has been prepared to monitor DRM.
In view of the extra rush of passengers during Chhath Puja, Railways has started the operation of Chhath special passenger train between Bhagalpur and Banka stations from Friday. Chhath special passenger train will leave from Banka at 23:00 on 21st November and reach Bhagalpur at 1:30. The special train will stop at all stations under Malda division jurisdiction.
