The result of Bihar teacher recruitment examination has come. Out of the selected one lakh, 20 thousand 336 teachers, about 14 thousand (about 12%) are from other states. All of them have been selected as primary teachers. Most of them are from Uttar Pradesh. Candidates from states like Jharkhand, Haryana, West Bengal etc. have also been appointed. All these are the candidates who have passed CTET and have done D.El.Ed. To become a teacher from class 9th to 12th, STET was required, which is done only in Bihar. Therefore, there are very less candidates from other states among the vacancies in Plus Two schools.
How many candidates from outside states had applied?
Let us tell you that when there was a bumper recruitment of teachers in Bihar, the Commission received more than eight lakh applications for this vacancy of two and a half lakh posts. Many candidates had submitted applications even with late fees. Among these applicants, 38.56 percent were from other states. Among those who finally applied, 3,12,560 candidates were from outside. Bihar resident applicants were 61.4 percent. For primary schools, there were 9.3 times more applications than vacancies.
What was the condition of BPSC?
Let us tell you that BPSC had set conditions for the candidates from states other than Bihar. It was decided by the state government that candidates from other states can also appear in this examination and become teachers in Bihar. But after this it was also made clear that candidates from other states will be appointed only on 16 thousand posts. Whereas the candidates of Bihar were given the benefit that they would be the only beneficiaries of reservation in the examination. Candidates from outside the state will not get the benefit of reservation.
Ineligible candidates are being thrown out.
After the results are out, protests are being held on many issues. At the same time, BPSC Chairman Atul Prasad tweeted on Wednesday that multiple levels of filtration are required to exclude ineligible candidates. The process is going on. All the vacancies that will remain vacant during their removal will be filled with one or more supplementary results. He wrote that the answer key of the compulsory language paper will be uploaded soon.

When asked, he checked the STET-2019 advertisement and found that it was for residents of Bihar and not for “permanent” residents. They knew the difference and hence left peacefully.
