Bihar State Women’s Commission has been dissolved for more than two and a half years, the appointment has not been done yet, 3270 applications are pending


Patna. Two years and seven months have passed since the Women’s Commission was dissolved. Till now the members and chairman of the commission have not been appointed. Due to this, the applications of the victims coming to the Women’s Commission are neither being taken nor their hearing is being held. Everyday the relatives of the victims come to inquire about the formation of the commission. Many victims plead to resettle their homes. Here, when the victims bring their applications, they are advised to go to the women’s police station or the women’s helpline. Till now there are 3270 applications pending in the commission. A register of these applications is maintained.

No action on 1415 applications since dissolution

In the year 2020, a total of 3053 applications were received. Since the dissolution of the commission, action has not been taken on 1415 applications. At the same time, even today, many victims send their applications to the Women’s Commission through post, but all of them remain registered in the bus register. In the year 2021, 2544 applications were received through post, while in the year 2022 till December 2590 and so far this year 680 applications have been received.

Victims call the former president every day

Former president Dilmani Mishra says that the victims and their relatives call them daily and request for help. She explains to him that the commission has been dissolved and she is no longer the chairman. Despite this, they appeal to him for help. Being a former president, she also helps the victims by talking to the administration.

Women still have faith in the Women’s Commission

Deputy Secretary Anju Kumari says that it has been more than two years since the commission was dissolved. No hearing has taken place since the commission was dissolved. We have also received such applications many times, in which there was a need to take quick action. In such a situation, the application is sent to the SP of the respective districts for appropriate action. Even today many women are waiting for the reconstitution of the commission. He says that taking the matter seriously here, immediate action is taken.
