Bihar: Shops and establishments will open in Bihar Sharif from today, internet ban continues, life back on track in Sasaram

After the violent incidents in the state on the day of Ram Navami and Chaiti Durga Puja in Bihar, the situation has now returned to normal. Permission has been given to open shops and establishments in Bihar Sharif from today. However, the deployment of police and security forces will remain on the spot. Senior officers of police and district administration will camp. District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar told that shops have been allowed to open from morning till 2 pm on Tuesday. Section 144 will remain in force in the city. Internet service will remain closed for now. After seeing today’s situation further decision will be taken by the district administration.

Life returning on track in Sasaram

Life is now returning on track in Sasaram. Shops opened on Monday in various areas including Navratna Bazar, Jani Bazar, Mubarakganj of the city. Life has started coming back on track. Some shops were opened in those localities on Monday. However, the number of customers is not the same as before. But, the process of opening of shops has started. People’s movement in the markets has also started. The District Magistrate appealed to the people to stay away from rumours. He said that there is deployment of police force at 29 places in the city along with magistrates for 24 hours. Divided into five sectors of the violence-hit areas of the city, five-five patrolling teams are roaming for 24 hours. These areas are also being monitored by drones. Those who do any kind of suspicious act will not be spared.

So far 173 people have been arrested

On these incidents, the government presented its stand in the Legislative Council on Monday. Finance Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary has said that wherever violence took place, miscreants were dealt with harshly. He told about the point-wise details of these incidents and the action taken by the police so far. Here, ADG Headquarters Jitendra Singh Gangwar said that peace is maintained in the entire state including Rohtas and Nalanda. SSB and Rapid Action Force have been deployed in both the districts. So far, 173 people have been arrested while registering 18 FIRs in both the districts. Of these, 130 people were arrested in Nalanda and 43 in Rohtas.
