Bihar: Police started chasing smugglers running away with cattle, pickup overturned on rocky road, driver arrested

On Tuesday morning in Kaimur district of Bihar, a game of run-and-run continued for about an hour between the police and animal smugglers in Hanuman Ghat area of ​​Bhagwanpur-Adhaura path. During this time, a pickup vehicle laden with animals, which was running ahead of the police vehicle, overturned on the rough and rocky road of Dohar Siwan near Vanasatti Devi Valley. After which nearby farmers reached the spot and freed about four animals loaded on the pickup from the clutches of the smuggler. During this time, a police vehicle also reached behind the pickup and the police arrested the driver. Also, with the cooperation of farmers and the help of tractor, the overturned vehicle was parked and seized. The only animal loaded on it was brought to the police station. After that it was sent to the animal fair of Nuaon for care.

A smuggler absconded

The driver arrested by the police has been identified as Hans Lal Kharwar, son of Ram Sanehi Kharwar, resident of Padri village under Raipur police station area of ​​Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh, while the other smuggler was driving another pickup vehicle laden with animals to the foothills of the mountain. He ran away through the road and hid in the forest or escaped by dodging the police.

Smugglers were running to escape from the police

Some farmers of Hanuman Ghat area told that the smugglers and the driver concerned were running fast towards Bhagwanpur from Adhaura side with two pickup vehicles loaded with animals. A police squad was coming behind them. In this sequence, to escape from the police, both the drivers took a U turn near Dudohariya turn and started running back in the opposite direction. Seeing this, the police also took a U-turn and started chasing the Bolero vehicle.

Smugglers started running on the rocky path after seeing the check post

While chasing the smugglers, the police informed the forest department personnel through phone and closed the forest department check post in Vanasatti Devi valley. After reaching there, seeing that the road ahead was closed, both the smugglers started driving the vehicles from the right side of the check post on the rough and rocky road at the foot of the mountain. During this time the police also kept chasing the smugglers.

Regarding this matter, Additional Police Station President Ranjay Kumar said that due to bad road, the vehicle laden with animals which was running fast overturned. A total of four animals loaded on it have been rescued and freed with the help of nearby farmers. Along with seizing the pickup vehicle and the only animal, the police have also arrested the driver concerned. He has been sent to judicial custody. Another vehicle of smugglers managed to escape.
