Bihar: Payment will be done by scanning QR code at the railway counter, those taking general tickets will get convenience.

Anand Tiwari, Patna: Now it will become very easy to buy tickets from General Rail ticket windows at all important stations of East Central Railway including Patna Junction. After purchasing the ticket, there will be no hassle regarding exchange of change. As soon as the QR code is scanned, the ticket will be in the passenger’s hand. Poomre is going to install about 610 fare repeaters at major stations of five divisions including its Danapur division. It is going to start from Patna Junction.

This facility will start before Holi..

If everything goes well, this facility will be restored at the junction before Holi. If sources are to be believed, Railways is preparing to start it around March 23, before Holi. It has been started as a trial run at some stations of Danapur division.

Currently payment is made through UPI code

After the installation of fare repeaters, as soon as the passenger asks for a ticket, his fare and QR code will appear on the fare repeater display. The passenger will be able to make payment by scanning the same QR code through any payment option. As soon as the payment is done, the ticket will be in the hands of the passenger. At present there is a system of payment through UPI code. But this process takes more time for payment. In such a situation, the line of passengers keeps getting longer. A new system is being made for relief from this.

At present ATVMs have been installed at 72 stations of Danapur division.

To ensure that passengers do not have to worry about tickets, Danapur Division has increased many facilities. UTS i.e. Unreserved Ticket System machines have been installed at all major small and big stations of the division. More than 72 public ticket booking servants have been deployed at 25 stations and booking agents have been deployed at more than 250 stations.
