Women of Bihar will no longer look powerless. This old image of his is being broken by more than 24 thousand women reinstated in Bihar Police in the last 10 years. At present, Bihar Police Headquarters has reinstated a large number of women police personnel in Dial 112, Cyber Unit and Social Media Centre, but now they have been assigned the roles of bodyguard, anti-terrorist squad, etc. which were traditionally men’s work. Will also be deployed in ATS) and Special Task Force (STF). They are being specially trained in this regard.

According to the Police Headquarters, women have been given priority to work in Dial 112, Cyber Unit and Social Media Centre. 100% women are employed in the 24-hour state level call center of Dial 112. 20% of the charge of Additional Police Station Heads in police stations has been handed over to women, so that they can be prepared for future police station leadership. Giving priority to women in the traffic management of Patna, women have been appointed on 75% of the posts of police inspectors and 40% of constables. Besides, women officers have been deputed as in-charge in 40 women police stations established in every district of the state.
Efforts are being made to create a balance between family and duty.
Since the number of women in the state police force is almost one-fourth, efforts are being made from the headquarters level to maintain a balance between their duty and family. A new transfer policy is being made, in which husband and wife working in the department will be posted in the same work area. In all the new police stations, new design approved barracks, toilets, crèche etc. have been constructed for the women. Along with maternity leave, there is also a provision for two years of child care leave.
