The MP and MLA court in Arrah on Tuesday sentenced 23 accused, including Agiaon MLA Manoj Manzil, to life imprisonment and also imposed a fine in a murder case. On behalf of the prosecution, Public Prosecutor Nageshwar Dubey, Additional Public Prosecutor Siyaram Singh and informant’s advocate Vishnudhar Pandey argued. After which Manoj Manzil’s legislative membership is also in danger, his membership can be cancelled. In the year 2015, farmer Jai Prakash Singh, resident of Badgaon village located in Azimabad police station area, was murdered by beating him with sticks, sticks and bricks and stones. In the case, Special Judge cum ADJ 3 Satyendra Singh found 23 accused including Agiaon Male MLA Manoj Manzil guilty in the court and sentenced them to rigorous life imprisonment and a total fine of Rs 10,000 each.
The murder took place in 2015
In the case, the Additional Public Prosecutor said that on August 20, 2015, around 6:30 pm, Jaiprakash Singh, a resident of Badgaon under Azimabad police station, was murdered between Badgaon and Nariyadih. JP Singh’s son Chandan Kumar had filed the FIR. It was told that he was returning home with his father, when on the way, hundreds of people including Manoj Manzil killed his father and made his body disappear. He somehow managed to escape from the crowd.
FIR was lodged against 24 named people and others
The son had filed an FIR against 24 named people and others. He had told that the accused murdered my father and took away the body to destroy the evidence. There was an election atmosphere at that time. Those people were active. Chandan had said in the FIR that we had no enmity with him. Police had recovered the body of Jai Prakash Singh from near Situhari Canal on 27 August 2015.
These people were punished
Nine witnesses testified in the court on behalf of the prosecution. In this case, the court has arrested Agiaon MLA Manoj Manzil, resident of Kapoor Dehra village of Tarari police station, Chandradhan Rai, resident of Kurmichak of Narayanpur police station, Jaikumar Yadav and Nandu Yadav, residents of Khedi of Azimabad police station, Cheena Ram, Bharat Ram, Triloki Ram, Prabhu Chaudhary, residents of Badgaon. Ramanand Prasad, Tonman Chaudhary, Manoj Chaudhary, Sarvesh Chaudhary, Pawan Chaudhary, Nand Kumar Chaudhary, Rambali Chaudhary, Guddu Chaudhary, Gabar Chaudhary, Prem Ram, Baban Chaudhary, Ramadhar Chaudhary, Ravindra Chaudhary, Shivbali Chaudhary and Rohit Chaudhary were sentenced to life imprisonment and Sentenced to fine of Rs 10-10 thousand.
There was a lot of police arrangement outside and inside the court.
Regarding the decision, SP Pramod Kumar had increased the security of the court since morning. Police were deployed at every nook and corner. After the sentencing hearing, the MLA was taken to Mandal Jail amid tight security arrangements.
Jai Prakash Singh’s family wanted death sentence
The family members of deceased Jaiprakash Singh say that they wanted death sentence, but life imprisonment was given. Still we have faith in the court. The decision of the court is valid.
