As soon as the pit construction work is completed, operation of long distance trains originating from Katihar will start from Purnia. According to railway sources, the work of the pit is likely to be completed in the next six months. It is understood that this year the journey to Nepal can also start directly from Purnia. However, complete arrangements have been made for direct train travel to Nepal. Now trains will operate immediately till Custom Yard. Till now the work has been completed. This journey was to take place till Viratnagar, but the matter regarding land acquisition is pending.

Keeping in mind the problems of the people, the zonal office has sent a proposal to the Railway Department. As soon as this proposal went viral on social media, people became happy. According to the information, Rajrani Express train going from Saharsa to Patna will now run from Saraigarh. A proposal has been sent to the department for this. Apart from this, a proposal to run 05276 and 05275 coming from Samastipur to Saharsa, 05244 from Samastipur to Supaul, 05292 from Samastipur to Supaul has been sent to the Railway Department. Apart from this, a proposal has been sent to run 05523 from Saharsa to Raghopur.
