Bihar IT Policy 2024: The cabinet on Monday discussed about creating a favorable environment for the development of IT, ITES and ESDM industries in Bihar and creating employment. Bihar IT (Information Technology) Policy 2024 Has been approved. Under this policy, lump sum support of 30 percent will be given to IT, ITES and ESDM units with minimum fixed capital investment of Rs 5 crore. The maximum limit of which can be up to Rs 30 crore. In this, the government will also reimburse interest subsidy to eligible units on term loans taken by the units from RBI registered banks or financial institutions. The actual interest rate on term loan or the interest rate up to 10 percent, whichever is lower, will be valid for the grant.

Government will also give lease rental subsidy

Under this policy the government will also provide lease rental subsidy. In this, 50 percent rental incentive of the annual lease rent amount will be given as reimbursement for five years to the IT units operating from the leased office or commercial space. In this, the work place of the unit should be located in the state.

Subsidy on payment of electricity tariff also

Under this policy, the government will also provide subsidy on payment of annual electricity tariff to IT units. 25 percent reimbursement on annual electricity bill will be given to IT units continuously for five years. The government will also provide subsidy for employment generation. 100 percent of the amount deposited by the employer in EPF and ESI will be reimbursed.

Its maximum limit will be Rs 5,000 per employee per month. This incentive amount will be payable for a maximum of five years. Under the IT policy, tailor made package will be given to mega units in which investment is more than Rs 100 crore or creation of at least thousand direct IT employment in the state.
