Bihar: Internet service stopped for two days in Chhapra, banned after clash during idol immersion.

There was a clash between two communities on Friday morning over idol immersion in Chapra. After which the police administration team and senior officials reached the spot and controlled the situation. A big decision has now been taken by the district administration. Internet service has been stopped in Chapra for two days. This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure. SP said that this step has been taken to maintain mutual harmony. Internet service will be disrupted for two days.

In Chhapra, the district administration has completely banned internet service for two days. This means that now people will not be able to avail any internet service including social media in Chapra for two days. The district administration has taken this decision in view of the current situation. In fact, at around 5 am on Friday morning, there was a clash between two parties during the immersion of idols in Nayi Bazar locality of Bhagwan Bazar police station area. Devotees carrying the Durga idol clashed with people from other communities. The atmosphere worsened and clashes broke out. About half a dozen people were injured in this incident and had to be sent to the hospital.

As soon as information about the incident was received, Chhapra Police Captain Gaurav Mangala reached the spot. He got the idol immersed under his monitoring. It is being told that the matter could have taken a bigger turn. Both sides had become very aggressive. The matter was resolved in time. The Nayi Bazaar area has been seen transformed into a police cantonment. The administration team has been camping continuously since morning.

The district administration has now stopped internet service as a precautionary measure. In fact, there is a possibility that in such an environment, anti-social elements become active and work to instigate people to spoil the atmosphere. There is a possibility of wrong messages being spread through the internet. Due to which violence erupts. To stop this, internet service has been banned.
