Under the Filariasis Eradication Program in Bhagalpur, school children are being given medicine for Filariasis. During this period, complaints came to light in many schools that children’s health deteriorated after taking medicine. On Saturday, the health of children in three schools of Bhagalpur had deteriorated. Whereas on Monday also, the health of about two dozen children of a school deteriorated after taking the dose of medicine. When the health of 23 children in the primary school of Sachchidanand Nagar Ward No. 31 deteriorated, they were admitted to Mayaganj Hospital for treatment.
On Monday, children were given medicine to prevent filariasis in Sachchidanand Nagar Primary School under Sachchidanand Nagar Ward No. 31. During this time, a child became unconscious after taking the medicine. Gradually, the health of many more children started deteriorating one after the other. The situation became such that the families of the children started reaching school and taking their children home. When the condition of the children started deteriorating, an ambulance was called and the children were admitted to Mayaganj Hospital. According to the information received, 23 children have been brought to Mayaganj Hospital where they are being treated.
