Another incident of fire in a train in Bihar has come to light. A major accident was averted on Tuesday evening at Simri Bakhtiyarpur railway station of Saharsa-Mansi railway section under East Central Railway. According to the information, a fire broke out in the brake shoe of Purbiya Express coming from Anand Vihar to Saharsa. There was an atmosphere of chaos at the station due to the smoke rising after the fire.

As soon as information about fire in Purbaiya Express was received, passengers started running here and there at Simri Bakhtiyarpur railway station. It is said that the Purbia Express train coming from Anand Vihar, Delhi to Saharsa reached Simri Bakhtiyarpur railway station at around seven o’clock. Then smoke started rising from under the S-4 bogie. As soon as the train stopped, the passengers looked under the compartment and saw flames, after which there was panic among the passengers. Passengers started disembarking from the train in a hurry. After which, Vijay Kumar, employee of Simri Bakhtiyarpur fire office, who was traveling in the train, promptly controlled the fire with the help of other passengers and railway personnel with the help of fire extinguisher. Passengers told that shortly after the vacuum around Dhamara Ghat, smoke started coming in the compartment while the train was moving.

Passengers told that as soon as the train reached Simri Bakhtiyarpur station, the fire broke out and the passengers traveling in the S-four sleeper bogie, somehow saving their lives, got down from the train and started running here and there. Station Superintendent Ajay Kumar Singh said that Anand Vihar Delhi Saharsa Express 15280 had reached Simri Bakhtiyarpur railway station at seven o’clock. As soon as he received information about the fire, he ran near the S-4 bogie with the fire cylinder and helped in extinguishing the fire and informed the control about the incident. Here, on receiving information about the fire, the fire brigade also reached the station. However, the fire was brought under control before their arrival.

Here, in view of the atmosphere of chaos, the passengers were being informed by the announcer from the station inquiry center that the fire has been brought under control. No casualties have been reported during this period. After the situation became normal, train operations were started. The train stopped at Simri Bakhtiyarpur railway station for about 50 minutes and after receiving the fitness memo, the train left for Saharsa.
