Instructions to remove poster-banner

HR Srinivas said that as per the Model Code of Conduct, the election related posters and banners put up on government buildings in all 40 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state will be removed within 24 hours. Besides, posters and banners of political parties and leaders will also be removed. He said that within the next 48 hours, poster banners of political parties and leaders will also be removed from public places like railway station, bus stand, haat-market, mall, petrol pump. Similarly, political posters and banners will be removed from private houses and shops within 72 hours.

Action on violation of code of conduct within 100 minutes

The Chief Electoral Officer said that in order to follow the Model Code of Conduct, it will now be necessary to take permission for putting up posters and banners on any private house or shop. Now, if the Model Code of Conduct is violated anywhere during the Lok Sabha elections, action will be taken within 100 minutes of the complaint being made. Poster-banners being removed

77392 booths were established

HR Srinivas said that a total of 77392 booths have been set up for voting in the state, out of which 11162 booths have been set up in urban areas and 666949 booths have been set up in rural areas. According to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, one booth is to be set up for voting of 1500 voters. There are 447 booths in the state where the number of voters is more than 1500, while there are 12 booths in the state where the number of voters is more than 1600. Additional booths will be set up at such booths.

35 booths marked as high election expenditure

The Chief Electoral Officer said that in every Lok Sabha constituency, one booth will be manned by disabled voters, while two booths in every district will be manned by young voters. Apart from this, one booth in every assembly of the state will be managed by women. 35 booths in 18 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state have been marked as having excess election expenditure.
