Bihar: Dozens of children fall ill after consuming filariasis medicine, chaos in Navgachia hospital

Navgachia. The health of two dozen children in Navgachia deteriorated after consuming medicines for filariasis and worms on Monday. Through Asha Didi, medicines to prevent filariasis and worms are being given in government schools of Bihar. Due to this, the health of children is continuously deteriorating. After giving deworming medicine, children complain of vomiting, headache and dizziness. In Bhagalpur too, the health of children is deteriorating after continuously giving medicines in schools.

Complaints of dizziness and vomiting

After the schools of Narayanpur block of Navagachia, now the health of more than two dozen children has deteriorated in a school of Nagarah Panchayat of Navagachia block. After his health deteriorated, there was an atmosphere of panic among the parents in the school. With the help of people and ambulance, the children were admitted to Sub-Divisional Hospital Navgachia. Medicines for worms and filariasis were given to children in Pravi Paswan Tola of Nagarah Panchayat. Children complained of dizziness and vomiting after consuming the medicine.

Rishabh Kumar, Mahi Kumari, Riya Kumari, Ankita Kumari, Pallavi Kumari, Karan Kumar, Dilkhush Kumar, Sunny Kumari, Muskaan Kumari, Pratibha Kumari, Lovely Kumari, Shanti Kumari, Annaya Kumari, Kiran Kumari and other children are included. Chandni Kumari, an ASHA worker who administered medicines in the primary school, said that she had given medicines in the primary school, Paswan Tola Nagarh. After an hour of giving the medicine, the children started saying that they were feeling headache and vomiting. Some people have also got fever. A total of 90 children were given medicine.

Villager Jitendra Kumar Singh said that medicines were given to the children after food, after giving the medicine the health of many children started deteriorating. Some started vomiting, some started having headache. An ambulance was called from the hospital and the children were admitted.

After an hour the children all started complaining that they were feeling headache and vomiting. Some children also vomited. Some even got fever. Hospital Deputy Superintendent says

Dr. B. Das, Deputy Superintendent of Sub-Divisional Hospital, Navagachia said that as soon as we came to know that the health of the children had deteriorated. We sent the Rapid Action Team to the school. From there the children were brought to the hospital by ambulance. Right now the condition of all the children is fine. There is nothing to panic about.
