The holiday date for diesel school buses has also been revealed. To reduce air pollution on the roads of the capital, preparations are underway to ban school buses running on diesel. Diesel running school buses have been banned in Patna Municipal Corporation as well as in Phulwari Sharif, Khagaul and Danapur Municipal Council areas.

Ban will be imposed from September 1st

Diesel running buses, mini buses and school buses will have to be converted to CNG and electric vehicles by August 31. There will be a complete ban on diesel running buses from September 1. Regarding this, the Transport Department had given instructions in February, in which it was said that there will be a ban on diesel buses, mini buses and school buses in the limits of Patna Municipal Corporation and Danapur Municipal Council, Khagaul Municipal Council, Phulwarisharif Council area. The department met again on Wednesday and issued guidelines.

The department has said that there will be no ban on those vehicles which, under valid permits, ply mainly on other notified routes except the notified routes of Patna Municipal Corporation, Danapur, Khagaul and Phulwarisharif Municipal Council areas and from the urban areas of Patna. They pass through or are used only for the purpose of providing convenience to passengers at bus stands situated within the boundaries of urban areas.

There are 1100 diesel buses only in schools.

At present, there has already been a ban on the operation of diesel city buses and autos in the capital. Till now school buses and government vehicles were deprived of this ban, but school buses have also been made a part of this ban. At present, about 1100 diesel school buses are running in Patna, Phulwari, Khagaul and Danapur. These buses pass through every street and locality of the city spreading smoke. However, the fine has not been decided yet.
