Bihar: Demand for CBI probe into Sultanganj-Aguwani bridge collapse intensifies, Tejashwi Yadav refuses

After the collapse of Sultanganj Aguwani Ghat bridge, now the political heat has also increased regarding this. The ruling party and the opposition are attacking each other. This bridge being built on the Ganges by bridge construction agency SP Singla in Bhagalpur was to be inaugurated in December. But even before that it once again collapsed with a bang. At the same time, the demand for a CBI inquiry into the construction of this bridge and the negligence in its construction has intensified. Leaders of many parties including BJP, JAP, LJP have demanded.

Demand for CBI inquiry intensified

The Aguwani-Sultanganj bridge accident should be investigated by the CBI. Such demands are being made by political parties. State President of LJP Ram Vilas, Raju Tiwari, when he came to Sultanganj on Tuesday evening, took stock of the fallen bridge. By holding a press conference, he raised many questions on the collapse of the bridge before it was built. He talked about requesting the Home Minister to conduct a CBI inquiry.

Pappu Yadav also demanded

JAP Party supremo Pappu Yadav met the family members of the missing guard in the bridge accident and gave them courage. He requested for a CBI inquiry into the negligence in the construction of the bridge. Also said that the property of all the secretaries who have been in the department should also be investigated. He described the Pul Nigam as a milch cow.

BJP’s demand, Tejashwi rejected

BJP MP Sushil Modi has demanded an inquiry by a team of external technical experts as to how the portion of the Mahasetu collapsed repeatedly. On the other hand, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that the damaged part of the bridge will be compensated by the concerned company Singla only. He rejected the demand for CBI inquiry being made by other parties including BJP. He said that CBI people are not engineers. The investigation is going in the right direction.
