SDPO said that on Thursday evening, a victim named Mohd. Bilal Ahmed, a resident of Rajni Chowk Bhatta Bazar of Khajanchi police station area, reached the assistant police station and complained that a thug had extorted Rs 4 lakh from him in the name of getting him a food-seed dealership for his company. He has cheated her and now he is threatening her.

When the police collected the thug’s mobile number from the victim, the number started matching the number saved in the police station’s mobile phone. This turned out to be the same number from which he was being threatened to be raided by claiming to be the Principal Secretary of the Rural Affairs Department. After this the number was traced. On the basis of the location received, the thug was arrested from a hotel room located at the bus stand.

Till now the swindler has made more than 50 people victims of his fraud.
