Once again, a big change has been made in the rules of alcohol prohibition in Bihar. The benefit of the new change will be given to those people from whose vehicles liquor will be recovered. Now the owner of the vehicle caught with liquor will not be made accused in haste. The Prohibition Products Department has advised to avoid making the vehicle owner an accused without investigation and verification in cases of vehicles caught with liquor.

Vehicle owners will be made accused only after investigation

The Prohibition Products Department has written a letter to all the Assistant Commissioners and Superintendents in which it has been said that the owner of the vehicle caught with liquor should now be made an accused only after investigation. In such cases, the officers should first try to reach the real owners of the vehicle and prove their involvement. If this does not happen, the department has to face an uncomfortable situation many times.

Vehicle owner is made accused without investigation

In the letter written quoting the Joint Commissioner of the department Shrikrishna Paswan, it has been said that it is often seen that without checking and verifying the vehicles caught in the transportation of illegal liquor, their owner is made an accused. Action is initiated after filing of charges. After investigation, it is found that the concerned vehicle has been sold by the owner to someone else. Apart from this, in many cases, FIR is also lodged for the theft of such vehicles. In such a situation, the department has to face an uncomfortable situation. 60 to 70 percent such cases are coming to the fore. Therefore, action should be taken to make the vehicle owner an accused only after the investigation of the case.
