Bihar: Caste census work completed in Patna, started on April 15, know how many families were counted

Bihar News: Caste enumeration work has been completed in the second phase in Patna, the capital of Bihar. In this, 13 lakh 69 thousand families have been counted. Caste enumeration of 13.69 lakh families has been completed in the district. In the second phase, the counting was started from August 2 after the order related to lifting the ban was passed from the High Court. A survey of one lakh nine thousand 573 families was conducted on the last day, Saturday, August 5. On August 4, the enumeration of 12 lakh 59 thousand 427 families was completed. The survey of four lakh 33 thousand 493 families was completed in a total of four days. On completion of the enumeration, the report has been sent to the government.

Review of caste census work through mobile app

District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh said that the total number of families in Patna district is 13.69 lakh. In the second phase, the survey of 100 percent families has been completed on Saturday. A report in this regard has also been sent to the government. Data entry is also being done through mobile app. Data entry work will start on the state government portal from Monday. 12741 enumerators, 2139 supervisors and 45 charge officers were engaged in the enumeration work. During the enumeration, information was taken from the family members on 17 points. Let us tell you that in the second phase, the counting started on April 15 from the apartment located on Bank Road of Patliputra zone in Patna city. The work of the second phase of caste-based enumeration was to start from April 15 and be completed by May 15. But, on May 4, the enumeration work was stopped. Till May 4, nine lakh 35 thousand 507 families were counted in the district.

Hearing will be held in the Supreme Court on August 7

There will be a hearing in the Supreme Court on August 7 in the matter of caste enumeration. An appeal petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the decision of the Patna High Court. The Patna High Court had lifted the ban imposed on the state government to conduct caste enumeration. Against this, Akhilesh Kumar Singh of Nalanda and others have filed an appeal in the Supreme Court.

Counting work started again from August 2

It may be known that the work of calculation of the second phase has been done through the mobile app. At the same time, the families which have been left out of the calculation in the second phase. They will be marked and identified. At the same time, there were some complaints related to the enumeration work in the office of the District Statistics Officer. It will be diagnosed. There are more than 13 thousand families in the district. In the second phase, after the enumeration of nine lakh 35 thousand 507 families, the enumeration was stopped after the order of the court. After this, the remaining 33 thousand 493 families were left. After the order of the High Court, the work of counting started again from August 2.

It is being told that according to the report of the first phase, the population of Patna has increased from 58 lakh, 38 thousand 465 and now it has reached 73 lakh 33 thousand 224. Let us tell you that a petition was filed in the High Court to stop the caste-based counting in the state. This petition was dismissed by the Patna High Court. With this decision of the court, the way for the Nitish government to get the caste census done in the state was cleared. The petitioners appealed to stop the caste enumeration, but the court rejected the petition. Along with this, the court had given a big relief to the Bihar government. Five separate petitions were filed in the High Court to ban the caste-based enumeration process, on which the hearing went on for several days. After this the court gave its verdict. Let us tell you about the caste census that most of the parties in the state were demanding it for a long time. The political party says that after this enumeration, the exact number of Dalit and backward class people living in the state will be known. This will make it easier to make special plans to take them forward.
