A horrific road accident has occurred in Katihar. A passenger bus overturned near 31 Kabir Math in Kursela police station area. The bus met with an accident while going from Ranchi to Siliguri. According to the information received, a Shivam Deluxe bus was carrying passengers. Which went out of control and overturned in Katihar. There is information about the death of two passengers in this accident. Dozens of passengers have been injured.
According to the information received, the Shivam sleeper passenger coach going from Gumla to Siliguri lost control and overturned in a roadside pit on Monday morning near Kabir Math on NH 31 Kosi road bridge. The incident is said to have happened around 3.15 in the morning. Two female passengers died in the accident. About three dozen passengers on the bus were injured. The injured were taken to PHC Kursela for treatment. After treatment at PHC, the seriously injured women and men were referred to a higher center for special treatment.
There were around 52 passengers on the passenger bus that left Gumla. After the bus overturned, the rear bonnet broke open. By opening the bonnet, the injured and other passengers were able to get out of the bus. Two dead female passengers trapped inside the bus could be taken out after a lot of effort. Two JCBs and a crane were trying to pull the bus out of the pit. It is understood that the bus lost control and overturned due to the driver falling asleep. Passengers traveling on the bus told that the bus had left Gumla around 12 o’clock on Sunday. The bus that left from Gumla reached Ranchi around four o’clock. Before reaching Bhagalpur, the bus stopped for some time at a hotel near the pump. Here the driver of the bus got down and the other driver got on.
The deceased include Jitni Topo (60) of Sarala Bagan Ramsalen Gumla and Sandhya Kerkata, resident of Gumla. After the accident of the passenger bus, despite it being early in the morning, local people including Kursela Police Station President Guddu Kumar had reached the spot. After receiving the news of the incident, SDPO Katihar reached the accident site and was trying to evacuate the passengers.
Three dozen passengers have been injured in the bus accident. The injured included Shalu Karketa (17) Aunga Purbi, Rahul Kumar (25) Palamu, Parmen Singh (54) Alipurduar, Ajit Khirath (47) NGP, Ramjesh Tullu (55) Jharkhand, Gaurav Mukul (33) Banka, Mrityunjay Kumar Singh (38) ) Pitkhori Chatra, Sanjay Kumar Khatu (23) Gumla, Vishnu Kachhwa (18) Alipurduar, Sunil Chhandwar (68) Alipurduar, Renu Dhankhar (35) Alipurduar, Narlen Oraon (39) Chhattisgarh, Gangotri (30) Chhattisgarh, Akomian Oraon ( 45) Jalpaiguri, Chinta Oraon (34) NGP, Vijay Lohra (46) Kharka Jharkhand, Alisa Oraon (26) NGP, Rajni Lakra (32) NGP, Manika Oraon (25) NGP, Santosh Oraon (28) NGP, Gulsava Praveen ( 26) NGP, Falekan Lakra (36) Ranchi, Krishna Karketa (55) NGP, Pipasa Oraon (24) NGP etc. are among the injured. Apart from these injured, about a dozen bus passengers were injured.
