Bihar: Big action against sand mafia in Saran, four crore fine recovered after raid, 51 vehicles seized

A state in Eastern India: Under the leadership of DM Aman Sameer in Saran, raids were conducted in Dariyavganj, Bengali Ghat, Lodipur areas under Doriganj police station to prevent illegal mining/storage, transportation of overloaded sand. A total of 21 trucks, 09 loaders, 04 tractors were seized in the raid. Along with this, 24 people have also been arrested. FIR has been registered against people involved in illegal sand mining, storage and transportation with overloaded vehicles. Along with this, an FIR has also been lodged against the land owners of the sand storage sites.

Continuous raids from 4 am to 12 noon

The list of land owners includes 19 land owners of Lodipur, 38 land owners of Chirand Badalpura and 14 land owners of Brahmpura. Action is being taken against the land owners. Along with confiscation of sand worth crores of rupees, a penalty of crores of rupees has also been imposed by the Mining Department and the Transport Department. In this regard, District Magistrate Saran has said in clear and strong words that such action will be taken continuously till the storage and transportation of illegal sand is completely stopped. District Magistrate Saran, Superintendent of Police Saran, police force in large numbers along with senior officials carried out raids continuously from 4 am to 12 noon today.

One lakh safety sand seized

During the raid, one lakh cubic feet of sand was seized from various ghats. During the raid, Saran and Bhojpur police collected a total fine of Rs 4 crore from the Mining and Transport Department. Apart from DM, ADM Dr. Gagan, Sadar SDO Sanjay Kuma Rai, DTO Janardan Kumar, MVI Santosh Kumar, DSP Saurabh Jaiswal, police officers of various police station, CO etc. were present in the raid.
