Air pollution situation serious, AQI reaches 432

The situation of air pollution remained serious in Bhagalpur district on Wednesday. The maximum air quality index (AQI) of the district was 432. The amount of dust particles in the air was 15 times more than normal. Due to increasing air pollution, it is having adverse effects on healthy people. Air pollution is having a bad effect on people suffering from respiratory, heart and allergy diseases and other diseases. The maximum pollution was in Mayaganj and Kachari Chowk areas of the city.

Bhagalpur among 100 most polluted cities of the country

The most polluted city in the country on Wednesday was New Delhi. Bhagalpur ranked 98th among the 100 most polluted cities of the country. The main reason for pollution was the abundance of fine dust and polluted particles in the air. Due to frequent westerly winds, the polluted air of metropolitan cities reaches East Bihar. At the same time, the pollution level is increasing due to the smoke coming out of thermal power plants in Barauni, Barh and Kahalgaon around Bhagalpur.

Why is pollution increasing?

As the wind direction changed, the amount of PM2.5 and PM10 in the air of many cities of the state has increased. This year, in many cities of Bihar, pollution guidelines are not being strictly followed in construction work, which is the biggest cause of air pollution. However, pollution control experts say that due to dew falling in the morning, small pollution particles are not destroyed, due to which the air quality is being recorded in the very poor category.
