Bihar and Jharkhand will appoint nodal officers for sharing intelligence information

Ranchi. In the video conferencing held on Monday between the Chief Secretary and DGP of Jharkhand-Bihar regarding the Lok Sabha elections, there was a discussion on leftist extremism on the border and preparing an action plan accordingly. It was agreed to appoint nodal officers for proactive sharing of intelligence on real-time basis. It was decided that border outposts and naka points would be made more active to stop the movement of criminals. Issues related to illegal arms, ammunition, narcotics, smuggling and illicit liquor trade were also discussed between the officials of both the states. A joint strategy was prepared to completely ban the movement of illegal goods. It was agreed to organize inter-state coordination meetings at all levels to conduct transparent, clean and safe elections. Both the states felt the need to work together for the arrest of inter-state wanted criminals by sharing their data. It was decided to activate the state control rooms and establish coordination between them. Both states also agreed to seal interstate borders before and on the day of voting. Apart from the Chief Secretary and DGP of both the states, Jharkhand’s CID DG, ADG Operations, Special Branch IG, CID IG, IG Operations besides all zonal IGs and DIGs of all ranges were also present in the meeting.
