Bihar: 1.25 lakh withdrawn from account by tampering with check in Gaya, cash withdrawn from account payee cheque, know the whole matter

A state in Eastern India: The case of illegal withdrawal of one lakh 25 thousand rupees from the account of a person named Sikand Kumar Gupta has come to light by tampering with the check inserted in the box in the premises of State Bank of India located at Station Road of Gaya city. An FIR has been registered in the Civil Lines police station on the statement of Mohammad Nasir Ansari, son of Quddus Ansari, a resident of Kesru Dharampur village under Chandauti police station area, on Saturday.

The victim Mohammad Nasir Ansari told the sub-inspector of the Civil Lines police station that he received Rs 1.75 lakh in cash and an account payee check of Rs 1.25 lakh from his acquaintance Sikandar Kumar Gupta in lieu of selling his land. Filled this account payee check and the related slip and put it in the box in the premises of State Bank of India situated on station road of the city as per the rules of the bank. After three hours, Sikandar Kumar Gupta got a call that Rs 1.25 lakh of the check had been deducted from his account. But, till then Rs 1.25 lakh had not come in his account. Thought there must be some network problem. After this, 1.25 lakh rupees did not come in his account for three-four days, then the investigation was started.

Someone had taken cash instead of cheque.

Contacted the senior officials of State Bank of India located at Station Road and after checking both the accounts, it was found that Rs 1.25 lakh has been deducted from Sikandar Kumar Gupta’s account. But, this money has not been paid into any account through cheque, but some person has withdrawn the cash. When the bank officials removed that check from their records, they found that some person had withdrawn the cash by tampering with the check drawn by Sikandar Kumar Gupta. The corner of the double line marked on the check was scratched. Here, on the statement of the victim Mohammad Nasir Ansari, the sub-inspector of the Civil Lines police station has started investigating the matter by registering a case against an unknown person for illegal withdrawal of Rs 1.25 lakh.
