Vande Bharat: If you are also going to travel by Vande Bharat train or are thinking of traveling, then this news is very important for you. Now passengers traveling in the train will be given half liter water bottles instead of one litre. This information has been given by the Railways by issuing a press release. Northern Railway has given a big reason behind its decision. Actually, information has been given by Railways that drinking water is precious on earth. In such a situation, to prevent its wastage, Railways has decided that every passenger in all Vande Bharat trains will be given a Rail Neer packaged drinking water of 500 ml. However, if any passenger requires it, another half liter bottle will be made available to him without any charge.
What did the Railways say?
Indian Railways has said that currently only one liter water will be given to the passengers during the journey. But, it will be made available to them in packs of half liter each. Explaining the reason behind its decision, Railways said that many passengers spend only half the water while travelling. This causes wastage of drinking water. Providing water to passengers upon repeated request is expected to go a long way in preventing wastage. It is understood that its greater benefit will be seen during cold days.

Half liter water is already available in Shatabdi
Let us tell you that in Shatabdi Express, which runs like Vande Bharat, passengers are already given half a liter of water. However, many Vande Bharats complete their journey in less than eight hours. According to Railways, till March 31, 2024, more than two crore people have traveled by Vande Bharat train. A total of 102 Vande Bharat trains are providing services on 100 routes of the railway network. This train is covering a distance of 26341 km.
