Gorakhpur: 16162 people of the zone have left the district after getting arms license. The Election Commission had sought information in this regard from the police captains of all the districts, after which the police got this information while verifying the license holders. Maximum number of license holders in the zone are 7955 who are residents of Gorakhpur. Who have left the district. Deoria district is in second place. The Election Commission had sought information regarding the cases registered against arms license holders during the assembly elections held in the year 2022 and the action taken in it. Regarding this, information was sought about the officers and employees who got the license during their posting in the district as well as the traders going out in connection with business. During verification by the police, it was found that 21624 people got the Shastra license in Gorakhpur district. Among the people, 7955 are not at the address registered in the police station register. Their arms license was made during their posting in the district. But now these people do not live here. Deoria district is in second place where this number is 3417. In this matter, ADG Zone Akhil Kumar said that the verification of arms license holders has been done on the instructions of the Election Commission. The report has been sent. Those against whom a case has been registered, their Shastra license will be cancelled. After the case was registered against 46 license holders in 11 districts of the zone, the police has canceled the license. The license of these people will be kept in the police station or gun house. The maximum action has been taken in Gorakhpur district. Here the Shastra license of 15 people has been cancelled.
