After a joint operation, Prayagraj and Lucknow police arrested him late on Saturday night near Hotel Hyatt Regency in Vibhuti Khand of Lucknow. Advocate Vijay Mishra was drinking cold drinks with friends at that time. Police personnel who arrived in three vehicles first talked to Vijay Mishra and made him sit in the vehicle. During this Vijay Mishra and his friends also had a scuffle with the police.
Significantly, Vijay Mishra is fighting the case of mafia Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, besides many members of the family including Atiq’s son Ali. About two months ago, an audio of advocate Vijay Mishra went viral, in which Vijay Mishra was threatening a plywood businessman in the name of Atiq and Ashraf. In this case, the police had registered an FIR against Vijay Mishra. A case was registered against Vijay Mishra for demanding extortion.
