Railway Board has reshuffled on a large scale 21 days after the gruesome train accident at Bahanga Bazar station in Odisha under Kharagpur division of South Eastern Railway (SE). Under this, the Railway Manager of Kharagpur Division Transfer of Shujaat Hashmi Has been done. Along with this, four key officers of the South Headquarters have also been changed.

These are – Principal Chief Security Officer Chandan AdhikariPrincipal Chief Commercial Manager Mohd Owais, IG cum Principal Chief Security Commissioner DB Kasar and Principal Chief Signal & Telecom Engineer (PCSTE) Pradeep M Sikdar.

Action taken after the visit of Railway Minister

According to the information, after the transfer, these officers have been sent to less important posts. It has been learned from railway sources that the Railway Board has taken this step after the Railway Minister’s visit to Kolkata. It is believed that this action has been taken after a review meeting of the South with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Meanwhile, it is learned that KR Chowdhary, Chairman, RRB, Ajmer, has been made the new DRM of Kharagpur division.

Railway Minister Mr. Vaishnav, who reached Kolkata on Wednesday, also inspected the metro tunnel of the East-West Project of Metro Railway, which is located under the Hooghly river between Howrah Maidan and Kolkata. After this, the Railway Minister had a meeting with the General Manager of South East Archana Joshi and other senior officials.

Officers were told – negligence is not tolerated

During this, the Railway Minister also warned all the officers to be careful. Before the meeting, he had told reporters at Howrah Maidan Metro Station that any kind of negligence in rail operations would not be tolerated. According to him, all the railway projects should be completed on time.
