BHU IIT case: Student accused of gang rape, stripping and making video, police increased sections

There was a gang rape of a girl student in BHU IIT campus. The victim has recorded a written statement before the police as well as the magistrate. On the basis of the statement, the police have increased the section related to gang rape and sexual harassment through electronic means in the case registered at Lanka police station. A B.Tech student of BHU IIT was molested by three bike-riding youths, some distance away from Karman Bir Baba temple, on the midnight of 1st November. A video was made of the student after stripping her. The student has recorded her statement to the police that the accused had also touched her private parts. Along with this, he was also threatened to upload the video made of forcibly stripping her on different social media platforms. Based on the statement of the student, the police of Lanka police station also included sections 376 (D) and 509 of the Indian Penal Code in the case registered. The investigation of the case continues.

Lanka police station chief will now investigate the case

Inspector (Crime) of Lanka police station Sahajanand Srivastava was investigating the case registered against a BHU IIT student for molestation and indecency. After the addition of sections 376 (D) and 509 of the IPC in the case registered, the investigation of the case has now been handed over to Lanka Police Station Head Shivakant Mishra. Police Commissioner Mutha Ashok Jain said that the written statement of the student has been recorded before the police as well as the magistrate. The sections have been increased on the basis of the statement. The accused will not be able to escape, they will be caught by the police and will go to jail.

Police could not even identify the criminals in 7 days

However, even after seven days of the incident, the police could not even identify the accused leave alone arrest them. There is anger among the students of BHU IIT regarding this. On Wednesday, students of IIT BHU demonstrated demanding the arrest of the rapists. Since 10 am, he was silently protesting outside the IIT Director’s office. But when no one came to meet after 4 o’clock, a rally was taken out in the campus. The demand of the Students Parliament is that they will study on the streets until the culprits are caught. He has also asked for a deadline from the police to catch the criminals.
