During the Bharat Drone Shakti 2023 organized at Air Force Station Hindon in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, representatives of various companies informed Defense Minister Rajnath Singh about the features of the drone. Its two-day exhibition concluded on Tuesday, in which more than 75 drone start-ups from across the country participated. The specialty of all these drones is that they can be deployed for use in various military and civilian areas.
A drone has also been displayed which can fly 24 hours. In this, power can be transmitted through wire. Therefore there will be no problem of running out of battery. The company has also made a nano drone, which can be flown indoors. It can be used to eliminate terrorists hiding in a house. By sending nano drones, it can be found out first how many terrorists are there and in which location they are hiding. After this the operation can be done.
A drone lifting 100 kg weight has been demonstrated in this program. Its own weight is around 80 kg. An even heavier drone will be ready by December. It will be able to lift 150 kg of weight. In this way, people trapped in flood, fire or other disaster situations can also be evacuated safely. The special thing is that this will be the first time that people can be evacuated from the disaster through drones. The drone will be able to fly up to a height of 50000 meters.
People were stunned to see the modern style of fighting during the drone show. During this, it was shown how a drone flying in the sky can detect a terrorist hiding on the ground. Then a model of destroying the hideouts of the country’s enemy by dropping bombs from drones was presented. Working automatically with Artificial Intelligence (AI), the drone destroyed the enemy’s plans in a moment.
During the drone show, fire fighting drones equipped with thermal cameras, idea drones capable of killing intruders, swarm drones with enemy detection (Reiki), eGams that can carry a load of up to five kilograms at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour. The drone was praised a lot.
The first C-295MW transport aircraft was formally inducted into the IAF at the inauguration of Bharat Drone Shakti 2023. The ceremony included ‘Sarva Dharma Pooja’ and a brief briefing on the capabilities of the aircraft. Capable of taking off and landing from unprepared landing grounds, this medium lift tactical aircraft will replace the HS-748 Avro aircraft.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the induction of C-295 will increase the medium lift strategic capability of the Indian Air Force. He described defense and aerospace sectors as two important pillars to make India self-reliant in the coming years.
Out of the total 56 contracted aircraft, the first 16 aircraft will be provided to the Indian Air Force in fly-away condition, the remaining 40 aircraft will be manufactured at Tata Advanced Systems Limited in Vadodara, India. The first IAF squadron equipped with this aircraft, 11 Squadron (The Rhinos), is also based in Vadodara.
After the induction of C-295 aircraft, Avro-748 aircraft will gradually be phased out. India’s defense system will be improved by replacing this aircraft of the 70s with the state-of-the-art C-295 aircraft. Experts believe that the C295 will in one fell swoop bring India to the point where full indigenous capability of aircraft manufacturing will be possible.
