Kasmar (Bokaro): On Sunday, during the Bhagta Parab (Manda Parab and Chadak Puja) organized in the ancient Singhpur Shivalaya (Madap) of Kasmar block of Bokaro district of Jharkhand, the Bhagatiyas performed various types of rituals to please their Lord Shiva and Budha Baba. Performed harsh and surprising rituals. Under this, Bhagta Jhula was also organized. In this, about two dozen Bhagatiyas got their back pierced with an iron hook and swung with its support at a height of about 30 feet. Before this, dozens of Bhagatiyas performed the ritual of “Phoolkhundi” in the Shivalaya premises. In this, Bhagatiyas walked on the burning embers of fire during Brahmamuhurta, while from 8:30 am to around 11 pm, Bhagatiyas took part in Bhagta Jhulan.

Chhau dance also organized
The swinging ceremony started from the nearby Shayar Dam. First of all, according to tradition, Pancham Bauri, a member of the Bauri family (Pat Bhagatiya) of Khairachatar, performed the tradition of swinging by getting his back pierced. After that Ashok Mahato, Vinod Rasleen, Sunil Karmali, Anil Karmali, Ujjwal Jaiswal, Sachin Kapardar, Krishna Kapardar, Sawan Karmali, Jairam Pahan, Muralidhar Kapardar, Gayaram Mahato, Sonaram Kalindi, Lakhindra Sav, Shaktiram Kalindi, Deepak Nayak, Sachin Mahato, Rohit Mahato, Madhusudan Pahan, Subhash Mahato, Vibhishan Mahato, Nageshwar Kalindi, Krishna Kapardar etc. Bhagatiya took turns to swing after piercing their backs. During this time, a female member of his family (especially the wife and in case of unmarried mother the mother) stood under the pillar with a pot of water on her head. Here, Chhau dance was also organized at night. Artists from Bengal presented the programme.

MP, MLA and Jairam also arrived
Late on Saturday night, local MP Chandraprakash Choudhary, MLA Dr. Lambodar Mahato and JBKSS leader Jairam Mahato also reached Singhpur Shivalaya and participated in Bhagta Parab. During this time, everyone bowed down in the temple and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the area and wished all the Bhagatiyas on this festival. The MP said that Bhagta Parab is an integral part of our basic culture. There is a need to preserve it.
