The weather office said that the temperature in the western districts will touch the 40 degree mark in early April before Baisakh.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 35.9 degrees Celsius in Salt Lake on the outskirts of Kolkata. The temperature in Dumdum was 35 degrees Celsius. The weather of Kolkata will not be very pleasant before Baisakh. According to the forecast of the weather office, the temperature in Kolkata will reach close to 40 degrees in the beginning of April.

Rainfall forecast in the districts

Despite the heat, rain is expected in various districts of the state. North 24 Parganas, East Burdwan, Birbhum, Murshidabad and Nadia may receive light rain on Friday itself. Along with this, sporadic rain and strong winds are expected in various districts throughout the week. Alipur said that due to the axis of low pressure, clouds carrying thunderstorms are forming at the local level.
