According to the Meteorological Department, this cyclone is expected to become more powerful from tomorrow and form a heavy low pressure in the South East Bay of Bengal. Initially its direction is north-west direction i.e. Andhra Pradesh coast. Its strength will increase in the next 48 hours and it will become a cyclonic storm. Forecasters predict that the cyclone may then change course and move towards the North Bay of Bengal.

Light rain likely in South Bengal

According to Alipore Meteorological Department, the weather may change in the coastal and surrounding districts of South Bengal by the end of the week. There is a possibility of light rain along with thunderstorm in many districts. Before that, this winter mood will continue for now. There will be more winter mood in the western districts. The temperature in many western districts including Purulia, Bankura has already fallen by 15 to 16 degrees Celsius. There is less possibility of drop in temperature in western districts.

North Bengal weather

The sky will be clear in North Bengal. There is no possibility of rain at present. Cold will increase gradually. Due to the influence of western monsoon, light rain is expected in Darjeeling and Kalimpong in the beginning of December. Rest of the districts of North Bengal will have similar dry weather for the next four-five days.

Kolkata weather

The sky will remain clear in Kolkata on Tuesday. There is a high possibility of cold increasing at night. Cold will reduce and heat will increase. The minimum temperature in Kolkata on Tuesday morning was 19.5 degrees Celsius. 2 degrees more than normal. The maximum temperature yesterday afternoon was 29.3 degrees Celsius. Which is normal. There is a possibility of heavy rain and light storm in Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the last few days of November. Fishermen have been banned from entering the Andaman Sea till 30 November.
