The weather patterns in West Bengal keep changing continuously. However, according to Alipur Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to change in the afternoon. It may remain partly or completely cloudy at some places. It may rain in coastal areas. There may be sporadic rain in many districts of South Bengal on Thursday and Friday.

Low pressure is forming in the Bay of Bengal. Today the strength of the cyclone will increase towards the west and after noon it will move towards the north-west towards Andhra Pradesh coast. After this it will change its direction and move towards north-west. Tomorrow on 16th November the direction will change completely and will move towards north and north-east. On Friday it will be located in North Bay of Bengal off the coast of Odisha.
Mercury may fall in South Bengal
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain on Thursday and Friday. There is a possibility of heavy rain in the coastal districts of the state and adjoining districts of Odisha. Sporadic rain will continue till Saturday. The rain is expected to stop after Saturday evening. The Meteorological Department has indicated that the mercury may fall again in South Bengal from Sunday. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in many districts of Gangetic West Bengal on Friday. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in North and South 24 Parganas districts. There is a possibility. There is a possibility of heavy rain in some parts of East Medinipur district. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in West Medinipur, Jhargram, Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly East and West Burdwan and Nadia districts.
Kolkata will be partly cloudy
There is a possibility of sporadic light rain in the coastal and surrounding districts on Saturday. There is no forecast of rain in South Bengal including the rest of the Ganges on Saturday. In such a situation, a warning has been issued for farmers in the coastal and surrounding districts. Alipur Meteorological Department has advised to sow potato seeds after Sunday. It will be partly cloudy in Kolkata. This will not increase the day temperature.
