Bengal: BSF recovered gold biscuits worth lakhs of rupees on the border.

Kolkata: Border Security Force (BSF) has arrested a woman smuggler while foiling an attempt to smuggle gold in the India-Bangladesh border area in North 24 Parganas. The name of the accused is Fatima Khatoon (33), who is a resident of Tarali village. Four gold biscuits were seized from his possession. Its weight is around 417 grams and its price is around Rs 26.15 lakh. A BSF official said that last Saturday, the 112th battalion of BSF had received information from informers that gold smuggling could be taking place from the border post Tarali-1 area. Based on the information, surveillance was further increased in the area. Meanwhile, BSF soldiers saw that a woman was moving towards Tarali village on a bicycle near the border. When BSF asked her to stop, she started running. But he was caught. On searching him, four gold biscuits were found near him. During interrogation, he told that the gold biscuits were given to him by Bangladeshi citizen Mahidul Ghazi and they were to be handed over to an Indian in Mathpada area of ​​Tarali. The gold biscuits and the accused woman have been handed over to the Customs office at Tentulia.

BSF caught nine including Bangladeshi

The Border Security Force (BSF) has arrested nine people, including a Bangladeshi, while trying to cross the border illegally and smuggling drugs at different places along the India-Bangladesh border. The accused were caught from border outposts Ellendri, Arjun and Chengarabandha areas. In this operation, 193 bottles of banned cough syrup, one car, one motorcycle and four mobile phones were also seized.
