Criminals started running on seeing the police

Along with this, Matihani police station chief Vivek Bharti and STF jawan Gautam Kumar were injured by the bullets of the criminals. After this, the police arrested three other criminals who were running away after chasing them with carbines and other weapons.

Furious villagers pelted stones

The police took the dead body of the criminal into their possession, after which the villagers became furious and started pelting stones. City Police Station President Ramnivas and two police personnel have suffered minor injuries in the stone pelting. All were treated at Sadar Hospital. SP Yogendra Kumar and district administration officials reached the spot and investigated the matter. The spot and the surrounding area has been converted into a police cantonment. The situation is tense but under control. Significantly, the STF had declared a reward of 50 thousand on the slain criminal Batohi.
