A state in Eastern India: Vivek Kumar alias Batohi, a criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000, was killed in an encounter between STF and criminals on Thursday in Akashpur of Singhaul assistant police station area of Begusarai. On the other hand, Matihani police station chief and STF personnel were injured by the bullets of the criminals. The slain criminal has been identified as Vivek Kumar alias Batohi (25), a resident of Ramdiri Akashpur. According to the information, the Special Task Force received information on Thursday afternoon that notorious criminal Batohi is hiding in Akashpur. As soon as the information was received, the STF took immediate action and with the help of the local police station surrounded the identified places.
Criminals started running on seeing the police
When the police reached near the criminals, on seeing the police, the criminals started running away while firing, but the policemen did not give up the chase. During this, there was continuous firing from both the saws, in which Vivek alias Batohi was killed. Along with this, Matihani police station chief Vivek Bharti and STF jawan Gautam Kumar were injured by the bullets of the criminals. After this, the police arrested three other criminals who were running away after chasing them with carbines and other weapons.
Furious villagers pelted stones
The police took the dead body of the criminal into their possession, after which the villagers became furious and started pelting stones. City Police Station President Ramnivas and two police personnel have suffered minor injuries in the stone pelting. All were treated at Sadar Hospital. SP Yogendra Kumar and district administration officials reached the spot and investigated the matter. The spot and the surrounding area has been converted into a police cantonment. The situation is tense but under control. Significantly, the STF had declared a reward of 50 thousand on the slain criminal Batohi.
