About Gadar 2
Filmmaker Anil Sharma said that the news of Gadar 2 costing close to Rs 100 crore has been greatly exaggerated. He said the actual figure was much lower, and credited the support he received from the Indian Army and the Uttar Pradesh government as helping him keep costs under control. When asked about the film’s budget, Anil Sharma said that he would like the studio to comment on these matters, but denied reports that Gadar 2 would cost Rs 75 crore to Rs 100 crore to make. The cost has come in between. He said, “We have really tried to control everyone’s fees. Sunny’s fee is so much, it’s okay, it’s just one person, but still he made a lot of compromises. These days, heroes and directors charge so much, the budget shoots up to Rs 600 crore, and sometimes heroes charge Rs 150 crore and Rs 200 crore.’
