Before the Lok Sabha elections, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) supremo Dishom Guru Shibu Soren has received a setback from the Delhi High Court in the Lokpal case. The High Court’s decision has come in this matter. Delhi High Court has rejected the petition of Rajya Sabha MP and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Shibu Soren to quash the CBI investigation. After this decision of Justice Subramaniam Prasad, the way has been opened for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation against Shibu Soren in the disproportionate assets case. This decision of Delhi High Court is being considered as a big blow for Dishom Guru. The final hearing in this case was held on 22 September 2023. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, Delhi High Court had reserved the decision.
Nishikant Dubey had filed a complaint against Shibu Soren family
Godda’s BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) MP Dr Nishikant Dubey had filed a complaint against Shibu Soren in Lokpal and demanded a CBI inquiry. Shibu Soren challenged the CBI investigation and filed a petition in the Delhi High Court demanding a stay on it. Also demanded to cancel the preliminary investigation proceedings of CBI. His petition was rejected by the Delhi High Court today. Earlier, on September 12, 2023, the court had stayed the Lokpal proceedings against Shibu Soren. The High Court had said that the matter needed consideration.
Shibu Soren’s lawyer had given this argument in the court
Shibu Soren’s lawyer had argued in the court that the Lokpal cannot consider the case registered against him. His argument was that the date of allegation was seven years before the date of the complaint. Shibu Soren had described this matter as malicious and politically motivated. At the same time, the Lokpal had said that the action is being taken as per the law. Let us tell you that in August 2020, Nishikant Dubey had complained against former Coal Minister Shibu Soren and his family members. It was said that Shibu Soren and his family members acquired huge wealth by misusing the government treasury. He had also accused the Soren family of being involved in corruption.

On Monday (January 22), Justice Subramaniam Prasad’s court heard Shibu Soren’s petition. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal and advocate Pragya Singh Baghel presented their side on behalf of Shibu Soren. At the same time, Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta presented the side of Lokpal. After the court’s decision, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey wrote on social media site X that today Delhi High Court asked to ensure hearing of my case filed in Lokpal and refused to interfere in it. Delhi High Court said that the Lokpal action and CBI investigation against the Soren family is legal. In the end he wrote – Jai Ram, Shri Ram, Jai Jai Ram.
